Couples Therapy is very different from Individual Therapy. My patient is not one nor the other of you, but the pair. Some couples come into the treatment to find out if the relationship is viable. If it needs to be dissolved, we can come to know that and work on the transition. More often the work is about improving the relationship.
First, we will explore what's going right and doesn't need fixing. Then we can build on those strengths. Communication is often at the root of relationship problems. With a third person to hear both takes on a situation, we can detect failures in communication and work to reduce them.
